The aim of the project was to create 100% LTE coverage in residential and commercial areas as well as along rural, district and national roads. The physical characteristics of the transmitting antennas and the varied topography of the district significantly influenced the planning process.

Main tasks of MRK Media AG:

• Actual coverage of the county
• Conception and validation of a model
• Planning of new masts to improve coverage
• Innovative pilot project to improve coverage along roads

Due to the difficult topographical conditions, several scenarios with different priorities were developed to take into account aspects such as landscape protection and thus alternatives for improving coverage were considered.  By creating a pilot project to increase mobile coverage with the help of leaky waveguides, a promising project was created that is attracting attention nationwide.
